From Dead Zones to Download Speeds – Starlink Installed in Flint, Flintshire
Flint’s got charm — historic buildings, scenic views, great people. But one thing it hasn’t always had is decent internet. That changed today.
I was called out to install a Starlink system at a property where the Wi-Fi situation had become a joke. Zoom calls dropping, Netflix buffering, smart tech failing — you name it. They were fed up.
Here’s What we Did:
Mounted a galvanised 12×18 wall bracket to a solid exterior wall
Added a 1.5-inch alloy mast with an anti-ferrule adapter to hold the Starlink Gen 3 dish
Positioned everything above the gutter line for a totally clear view of the sky
Once mounted, I routed the cables cleanly through the loft space and sealed every entry point to weatherproof standard.
The Tech Bit:
Using the official Starlink app, I locked in the dish alignment — and bang, instant satellite lock. Within minutes, the house had speeds they’d only dreamed of before.

No more lag. No more spinning wheels. Just fast, stable internet in a place where fibre still hasn’t caught up.
